Introducing panoramic digital X-rays, available at our practice. With this technology, an image is taken of your mouth with a digital sensor and downloaded into our computer, where it is immediately available. We can also view your entire mouth in one shot, including the upper and lower jaws. These methods result in 75% less radiation than conventional X-rays. No more waiting for images to develop and no more chemical waste to pollute the environment. In addition to panoramic X-rays, we are able to take X-rays with the hand-held NOMAD™ device. This looks like a radar gun, and replaces the traditional bulky, awkward wall mounted X-ray units.
Each year in the United
States alone, approximately 5 million teeth are lost during athletic activities.
A custom-made mouthguard provided by our practice will prevent most losses. The
one-size-fits-all mouthguard sold in stores gives little or no protection and
can actually inhibit proper breathing during exertion. The American Dental
Association recommends the use of a custom-made mouthguard for these sports:
Acrobatics, basketball, boxing, field hockey, football, gymnastics, handball, ice hockey, lacrosse, martial arts, racquetball, roller hockey, rugby, shotputting, skateboarding, skiing, skydiving, soccer, squash, surfing, volleyball, water polo, weight lifting, wrestling.

Dr. Blandford creates a bond of teamwork with patients through the use of this high-tech tool. The SOPROLIFE Light Induced Fluorescence Evaluator gives a patient the opportunity to view a close-up and clear picture of the mouth. It lets you see what work needs to be done so you will be assured of the right decision. Another advantage to this device – it can easily detect decay to remove cavities when they are still small. Our patients have expressed their pleasure that they can be a part of their dental decisions with this technology. We know you will be too!
Bad breath is often a sign of more serious health problems, possibly indicating an advanced stage of gum disease. With the major advancements now offered in dentistry, you can return to fresh breath and no longer worry about embarrassing social interactions.
